Putting your website into stealth sales mode

What's your Digital Maketing plan look like?

This is somewhat of a new term that came out of watching fortune 500 companies create really neat, automated marketing sequences.

We’re talking email marketing, paid ads, lead generation content, and so on.

I’m sure you’ve probably heard of some of the buzzwords going around the web.

There are TONS of new digital marketing guru’s coming out of the woodwork, talking about how certain marketing tactics can help your business.

What I’m here to tell you that they are RIGHT!

(but you don't need to spend tons of money on those guys)

If you aren’t using some flavor of digital marketing with your website, then your definitely leaving money on the 'virtual table'.

Digital marketing can be easy and rewarding when you get the hang of it, especially for the DIY'er like yourself.

I'll give you an example that might help.

A very common digital marketing tactic being used right now is to give something away in exchange for an email address (or phone number) so you can connect with that potential customer later on.

Nurturing leads into customers.

Here’s how you can do this for your business:

1.) Find something of value that you can give away. Usually a document of your valuable knowledge would be a great place to start.

2.) Turn your valuable information into a PDF.  You can easily to do this with Word or Google docs.

3.) Upload your PDF to your hosting account (a quality host will help you with this)

4.) Put an opt-in form on your website and let your visitors know about the free info they can get in exchange for their email.

5.) Craft a couple emails in your email marketing platform that will automatically be sent to the customer a few days after they get your report.

These 5 steps are an outline of a tried and true digital marketing tactic being used by LOTS of businesses.

(In fact, your competition may be doing this too)

It's very effective.

Here's an example of why this works so well :

Imagine a woman looking for flowers for her upcoming wedding.  She searches Google for florists and lands on 2 local florist's websites.

Florist A has a great website with beautiful flower pictures and a phone number to call for more info.

Florist B has pretty much the same info on the website, but in addition, they have a free PDF on - “Beautiful color combinations for your wedding party”.

She sees the interesting PDF and enters her email to download.  She reads the information from Florist , but decides not to make a decision yet.

A couple days later, the husband asks “Hey hun, how’s the flower searching going”?

Just then, the woman gets an email from Florist B with a special bonus carnation for purchasing a wedding package.

Guess what florist she decides to work with?

Now, this is just a simple example of how digital marketing works, but you can see how adding a simple piece of content to your website can help you connect with your customer on another platform, email.

Technology is the hardest part of Digital Marketing

In the current hosting climate, cheap hosting has you pared down to the bare essentials for your website.

So, in order to implement digital marketing in your business, you have to purchase additional services and try to integrate them with your website yourself.

That's where most people get stuck.

In a perfect world, the hosting industry would have stepped up a few years ago and included Digital Marketing tools designed around your website.

To make it super simple for you to use and implement.

If only....

Ok, so let’s recap.

1.) Most important - you should have a good, business grade host behind your website.

2.) You should start implementing digital marketing in your website ASAP.

3.) The perfect solution would be a hosting company that 'pre-wired' marketing to your website to make it easy and to support you throughout the whole process.

-- the perfect solution does exist, but you just have to make one simple change...
